The wife is in Italy. It's a nice cool morning here in the New Orleans area. It's going to get pretty warm this afternoon. I have nothing to do, so I'll dabble in the mundane. I have no real plans for the day other than to go to the dealer who sold me my XMAX and try to correct a serious issue. The Yamaha XMAX has a FOB. That FOB is tied to a six digit code. Without that code, no new FOBS will work with the bike and when this FOB dies, the bike becomes an anchor. The bike ships with a wallet size card that has that six digit code on it. They have no idea where my card is. I got them to write me an IOU for the code. I have read that once the bike leaves the factory that Yamaha has no way of knowing what the code is. Sound like fun yet? The fix is replacing the ignition, the ECU and something else. $1000+ This could get interesting.

Other than that, I just need to put on some break-in miles. I'll take and post some pics along the way. I know you are all on the edge of your seat. A pic to get us started.

My ride took me from the suburb of Metairie to NOLAs hip Uptown area. Along the way I saw NOLAs largest pumpkin patch and the coolest Halloween decorations in the city.

The destination was the second best bakery on the planet. The best is Tellico Grains. While seated outside some snot nosed little brats said “Mom I want to look at the motorcycles.” The little shits ran right past my XMax to look at some Harleys 50 feet away.

I feel your pain! My Kymco came with 2 fobs. I lost one and to took over €1000 to replace the whole locking system that came with 2 fobs.

If I were you I'd get the dealer workin' on getting the new parts in so he can do the switch this winter if/when y'all have a bit of chilly weather.

For riders who are scooting around town and don’t feel the need for full on riding boots TCX makes a riding shoe that looks good, is sturdily constructed and offers decent over the ankle protection.

The next leg of my trip will take me to the dealer. I pass by 2 colleges along the way. If women dressed the way they do now back when I was in college, I never would have learned a damn thing. Frankly, I didn’t need any help with not learning. It’s a gift.

The visit to the dealership didn’t bring resolution, but they did say they’d order and install everything necessary to make it so that I have a bike with a key code.

A quick bite for lunch and a cool pen to sign the check with, then back to the house for a pit stop.

Then I headed for Lake Pontchartrain and past a house that has some seriously cool toys. The Bonnabel boat launch gets busy and crazy on summer weekend afternoons. The same group of old guys bring a cooler of beer and enjoys the show from the gazebo. If I was a divorce attorney, I’d have a billboard here,

Great pictures! My friend who I ride with sometimes often wind up at boat launches to enjoy the action. :thumb
