Yeah I remember. I test rode a 9S when they first came out and later was forced (haha) to ride a 12R for a weekend. It was a miserable weekend.
The 9S wasn't terrible but listening to that 200db cooling fan got old. And it had this odd powerband where it continued to make more power right up until it hit the rev limiter. So you'd be accelerating on a rising power curve then just about go over the handlebars when the rev limiter cut in. It was all in the name of being able to publish a peak hp number that didn't look atrocious. The bike would have been nicer to ride with a bit less power and a better-shaped power curve imo.
Also rode a lot with a guy that had a S2 Thunderbolt. Man, that bike ruined so many rides. We'd get half-way to where we were going and BLAMMO the S2 would blow up again. I hated that bike. So did the owner.
None of which has anything to do with the Super Cruiser I guess but hey meandering threads are what make the internet great, haha.
