All right so I was reassembling a daytona 675 and I saw the gear at the base of the clutch basket was split and spring loaded so the teeth didnt line up like in the pic, what is the reason for this?
Only thing I have come up with is that maybe it helps dampening out drivetrain jerkiness like a cush drive?
I dont remember a similar setup on the GSXR600/750 or any of my dirtbikes.
