Wheel locks? Is theft common over there?
Not really. Come to think of it, never heard it actually happening to anybody.
I bought the van in Germany and it came with the "lock nuts". I've been just too lazy to replace them with ordinary ones.

I remember it happening when I was growing up. A neighbor woke up one morning with their car up on blocks. It does not seem to happen much anymore.

Loaded the van up with essentials and hit the road today.
The goal is to get to south-west Portugal in 3-4 days and do some riding over there but we'll see
That sounds warm. Very jealous. Keep us updated on the trip.

Stealing wheels is so last year fashion in the thief world, the real danger these days is no cat in the morning. the cordless grinder has made this a real threat and many camper van retailers remove the cats off vans parked on four courts in the UK at least.
