What's new

Moto vans and campers

I have two cheap Chinese flexible solar panels velcroed (before you ask, I did use the more expensive velcro from the hardware store) to the roof of the van.

This does feel good after six months of darkness.

I'm still squinting like I just walked out of the cellar whenever I'm outside.

I’m wanting to see the youtube about how you refasten a spare wheel

Guessing a simple manual gearbox (GM pickup unit shown) or an internally mounted 12v 1500# winch with wireless remote, both of which are inexpensive

Yup, and on that rig, they probably made it motorized.

Agree. Similar on my Xrunner. PIA. I would not trust that fitting loaded, tilted on rough terrain. Photos have hub caps fitted so can’t see.

After searching for months, I lucked out and found this cool rig.

I rode my dr650 about 60 miles to take a look at it...expecting it to be terrible for the price. Ended up driving it home with the DR in the back. It does need a little work, but it has all the features I wanted and for $2500, i couldnt pass it up.

Did I see you post that on the MotoVan FB page? $2500 is a steal for something like that. You can probably sell it for 4 times that But you would not be able to find another deal like that.

Yes, that was the one on the FB page. I originally rode out there just out of curiosity...expected it to be a total shitbox. But it runs and drives pretty good. It does have some rust and the trans slips when hot and has an ABS light on. So, it's going to take a bit of work to get it 100% right...but man a 2002 e350 with new tires and brakes and 110k miles for $2500 is a deal.

Even if you have to put a transmission in it, it is still a solid deal.

I'm thinking the box is worth about $3500 alone . Sweet deal.

Here is our setup... 2017 Winnebago Paseo class B (Ford Transit T350HD EcoBoost, dually, extended length high roof van). We've owned it for 4.5 years now and absolutely love it. Trailer is an all aluminum EZ-Hauler 5x8 that I've done some customization on.

Your bikes are so ridiculously clean. What do you have for a mobile washing setup? :D Because one of the things I've been kicking around is a 20g water tank and some kind of sprayer. Maybe the dewalt 20v version as I'm already in their ecosystem and it's supposedly not-quite a pressure sprayer which is perfect for getting mud off bikes but not breaking them.
