Another good ride out of Silverton is US Basin Road #825 on the COTREX maps.
Go north on 550. Just after Ohpir Pass road it's the next road on the right.
It makes a long steep climb with several switchbacks then runs along the crest of the mountain. Great views from the crest.

You can see Hwy 550 just above my left handgrip. It comes back out on 550 just across from Black Bear Pass road.

That is a very cool video! Thanks for sharing that!

I remember a bunch of years ago on that big slide, we were coming down that road and had to manhandle our bikes over that slide. Took over an hour to get past it and it wasn't as big as it is this year. Crazy stuff!
