1290 turn signals on SE. Fits 1:1 on original places, the connectors and relay ofcourse need to change.

I guess it looks better in that picture. It has been on the ground more than a few times. I bought it new in 07 and has 85,000 km on it. Been an awesome bike!

My SE has around same km`s. Bike has been in pretty good hands all it`s history and serviced well. Engine runs nice and I`m not worried at all about it but I got a good change to buy an engine from SM with less than 30tkm`s so took it along with carbs.

Took the Super for a 2300km spin at Baltics. Mostly on gravel, logging roads and some mild enduro. Also drove round the Raaremaa-island via its gravel.

Now servicing the bike for MAD Moto Adventure Days here at Finland where I’m one of the guides, we have 160 guests and drive in <10 bikes groups on routes wich cover permitted 3000 kms on different levels. Bikes are +600cc adv’s.

Have had too much things in life going on and all havent been nice things but finally started service for SE. It has 91 tkm on the clock so time for a valve job. And this time I decided to grind the shims. It’s rather easy, just get it spinning under stone and messure often to keep it straight.

So the shim spins in your fixture from the pressure of the stone ? Wow that helps...I do the same with brake rotors for surfacing.

Yes, with right angle its easy to keep the shim spinning and slide stone over it from sides to center. Does not need much force or pressure.

Damn, that is a good looking bike! Wish I could go out and buy this today, and not one buried under electronics and cruiser windshields.

Have you encountered a solid shim or is there a soft center? I'd imagine the entire shim has been hardened instead of just a hard face. ??

And why grind them? Did you run out of shims? If so you're going into a danger zone of having a valve break.
