The ruckus is like any other scooter and has an oil bath pinion gear set up. There probably is a gear up or down set of gears. There definitely is for gy6 50cc because of different wheel sizes.
The ruckus is pretty much a 40mph machine. And is one of the hardest scooters to boost speed. Only a small percent of owners have ever been able to boost its performance. Most want the modded setups and don't mind installing the gy6 150cc kit. Problems is that most kits lengthens the wheelbase and lowers the chassis.
Unfortunately the minarelli days are about over. I thought I had found one clone. Nope out of stock. Only genuine has a 2 stroke 50. I am pretty sure 2024 models will still be 2 stroke
