One of these is on my short list to add to the stable. Tell me all the wonderful thing about it. BTW, I'm 6'-3", 205, 36 inseam. Will I fit?

Here’s a pic of my ‘06 DL1000

Trying to decide if I really need to pull my radiator to change my front sparkplug.

Thought it was a good time to do it since my tank was already off to change out my air filter.

I'm 6'4" and found the peg to seat distance a litlle cramped. I dropped my pegs 2" and now the bike fits me perfectly.

At my height, I also had some issue with air buffeting on my helmet. The madstad windshield bracket allowed me to adjust the windshield and fix that.

How new of a Strom are you looking at? I've got no experience with the post '12 models.

I saw a 2012 model on Craigslist recently. It looked good in the pictures, but it was black and I wasn't overly fond of the graphics. But such things can be overlooked.

Bump, I picked this up yesterday. I am probably going to have questions about these bikes as I go over it. The rear spark plug seems to have fallen out.

Looks like it is in good shape

Oh, how looks can be deceiving. It was not running. I charged the battery overnight and reinstalled the rear spark plug, it started right up. It had a really loud exhaust on it, I need to order some exhaust gaskets to get the oem exhaust reinstalled.

Seems to have fallen out! what did the previous owner say about that? Weird! Gladit fired right up for you How many miles? My 2012 has 75,000 miles and runs like a top

Yeah, I thought it was weird. 64k miles. I got it all put together last night, it runs pretty nice now. I might be able to get it out for a road test tomorrow.

Anyone here have experience with the raising links for the wee? I know it will alter the geometry of the bike, but does it affect it negatively?

2014, Vstrom 1000. Purchased in December 2019 from the original owner. Bike had 4100 miles, now has close to 8000. Originally the bike was all black. I stripped the wheels like I wanted, removed most of the black vinyl on some other aluminum parts. Added the secondary wind deflector and top box and 1" bar risers, along with aftermarket bars. Being 6'-4" is a challenge on other bikes. VERY happy with this one. I had an '04 which sold me on the Vstrom ergonomics.

Cool that you got a Strom Yinzer! I've had an '09 650 for about a decade now and has been a great bike. Did you get out for a road test yet?!
