At Bike Week in Daytona in '79, my ex-wife and I stopped at a McDonald's on my CB750. There were a lot of Harleys around the parking lot and we had to walk past them to get into the store. One guy said "Jap junk" as we walked back to the bike with our food. Figuring I better keep my comments minimal to avoid a beat-down since I was outnumbered about 20 to 1, I kept walking and without looking at him I said "the war was over a long time ago". He didn't react so I wondered if the comment went over his head.
