What's new

What did you do in your garage today?

I stuff my homemade crane made from scraps, into a standard sized gooseneck hitch, winch runs on a battery jump pack

comes in handy as hell to load the fat hogs
Good . I am liking it and worth considering.

Found a photo of the mount, 3" solid round bar. I can mount the hoist to it, or swap to a plate that the winch relocates to it , w/o hoist. Effectivly the winch is a the bed height. Works to pull heavy things up a 2"x10" board to the bed.

back to the hoist, if you pull the gooseneck pin under the DS fender, the hoist swivels on the z axis

Engine hoists seem to typically come with small diameter wheels which is fine IF you have smooth, hard work surface for postitoning. That's not handy in all situations, especially rural locations.
I see several handy uses for the hitch-mounted product on rough, uneven ground or wet ground or both.

Engine cranes are as you say awkward on soft or uneven surfaces and the castors at the back are your leading wheels in any longish distance movement, to push them is ok short distance but hard too maneuver even around other vehicles machines in workspace.
engine cranes fold up reasonably compact but are heavy by comparison with the legs and base framework, the hitch and leg type has framework but is more portable but in fairness just a half ton many engine cranes are more than that so i suppose have a right to be a shade heavier and clumsy to man handle on anything but smooth hard surfaces.

A buddy sent me a text earlier today.

"You gonna be around? I need to bring something by."

Recently he rebuilt a basketcase 300 EXC to see if he'd like it more than his YZ250. He wasn't impressed, but I was.

"I like my other bikes more, but you really enjoyed this 300. Here, you keep it."

😳😳 It's a new bike. Engine, tires, bearings, everything has like maybe 2hrs on it, and 45min of that was me riding it last weekend 😂

Shoveled the snow out of the driveway this morning (for the third time in 5 days), so I can get my truck out... to go to the dealership to pick up my new bike, and park it in my garage!

Got the call yesterday, it is in!

E-bike didn't have a place for bottle holder because of battery location. Most E-bikes have basket mount on the front. It seems like they all use the same headstock. Made adapter for between the bolts, but I didn't like the way the brake lines and wires rubbed on the bottle. A piece of angle and it is to the side and away from everything. Moved the light forward for better clearance.

Stripped down the backside of the silverwing, just because. Wanted to see if I could figure out what gender it is, . Some call their bikes “girls” like hey, “she “runs good. Well , I had to look up the skirt to see. And after hours of feeling around with wrenches and things, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a HONDA! Then I put its clothes back on and went for a ride.
