What's new

What did you do with your trials bike today?

I mix my own from regular household products.

1.5 Cups - liquid dish soap
1 Cup - fabric softener
2 Cups - all purpose cleaner

Works great and smells good, too
The wife kept getting angry with me for leaving the bottle of dish soap in the shop so I had to buy something…..:lol3

I rode mine for the first time in ... well, a long time. First time since I lost a lot of weight, so my boots needed adjustment at the calves.

The clutch lever was slightly stiff, which wouldn't be a problem except that I'm always using the clutch on a trials bike. Is that normal for a mineral oil clutch system at low temperatures (42F)? The actual clutch engagement was fine.

I had a couple moments that made me think I'd like a 125, or I should get a 200 cylinder for this, or maybe a slow throttle, if I'm able to get back into competition. Despite the altitude, despite the user friendly Del'Orto, 250cc will make you pay for your mistakes.

I can't imagine riding a 125/200 at altitude would be any fun. Slow turn throttle would be the easiest and cheapest first step. I that that bike has the head with interchangeable inserts, you could put a low comp insert in.

I really like my 450L at ALT. 12K plus for that reason

Not so much at Sea Level ...

Its cylinder head does not have inserts. But you could buy such a head, or have the head machined.

What is the clutch pack thickness & finger height.

What transmission oil are you using?

Looking possibly at a 2005 Cota 250 for 3k. Thoughts?

I replaced this BPR5EIX with ~50 hours on it

And then I fattened up my carb for the cold weather. Here's an ES plug I was using when I settled on my jetting in warm weather....

The EIX plug has the same dark side/light side (intake/exhaust?) though you can't see it from the picture and it's not as brown.

If it's low time and in excellent shape then yes. If it's been run through the wringer (which applies to any bike) then no, unless you're looking for a project.

Hours are pretty low. Second owner and original rubber. I have only had conversation and seen pictures but plan to take the time and go see it. I appoligize for being in the wrong thread.
