What is this thing???

What's a Christmas Tree ??:kat
It is a set of lights used in drag racing to signal to the drivers that it's time to hit the go-go button. :doh

Optimizes Epitomizes the saying “they don’t make stuff like they used to”!

That’s a neat find. 👍

It's a Turbo Encabulator.

Works on the principal of relative motion of conductors and fluxes, producing modial
interaction of magneto-reluctance and capacitive diractance.

This looks an original that has a base plate of pre-famulated amulite surrmounted
by a malleable logarithmic casing in such a way that the two spurving bearings were
in direct line with the panametric fan.

Latter models consisted simply of six hydroscopic marzelvanes, so fitted to the ambifacient
lunar waneshaft that side fumbling was effectively prevented.

Nice example, you should be proud !!

LOL^^^^ If it's not actually an Encabulator (turbo or otherwise) Is it for sawing from a lake? The handle direction is curious.

Yep. New England ice exports were significant part of 19th cent MA shipping economy. Look up New England ice trade. This one came out of a barn just N of Boston. People on the farm could repurpose a pit saw, cross handle. The tooth profile on a proper ice saw is radically different than a wood saw. And the handles are in plane with blade.
