For years, I never saw a need to use it since we had Paypal until this past Spring.
Suddenly and summarily, several banks suspended Zelle accounts last week.
My first thought was account security/ hacking but the actual issue seems to be fraudulent transactions.
OK,whatever, our use is legitimate and in keeping with the user agreement.
Well, the way our particular bank suspended these accounts was to put them on Zelle's Global Restricted list.
They used a date range cut off to determine suspensions, not actual account activity.
Turns out, this list is comprised of accounts which violated the user agreement by being associated with financial fraud, terrorism, sex trafficking, drug trafficking, gambling, etc etc.
I'm certain the fuckery and fallout from this has only just begun.
Anybody else ??
