The skull is what pops up on my phone screen for the shortcut, while the bike/sunset is the banner for the page.

I'm not really sure which is "the" logo for the site 😅

Originally I found the orange skull avatar on the other site....that is how I ended up here. I view the logo as ADV BIKES. That should be very easy for a graphics shop. Most of these shops are cool and can do some amazing stuff. Like recreate old stickers from a photo. One off and for a decent price.

Maybe I need an excuse to buy a vinyl cutter. My neighbor has one for hobbies. I can ask later today after work.
 
I can see where the logo at the top and the use of the Orange Skull is confusing.

I have another community asking me to make a forum to replace their VS bought site, given that trend, I think it would be cool if all the new communities have a different color skull. But thats just me.... this is your community.

I am talking to the graphic designer about turning the skull into a little dude that can be better used for quick one off shirts like mentioned.

I think I can make stickers of each. A reflective orange skull like my avatar would look cool tough, good idea.

A printable logo with free use could have anyone quickly work with local shops or diy plus customization. And still get the "official" real deal 1 of so many run products with a credit card. I like both options.

Plus who knows..an art logo thread. Pencils vs pc!
 
I was big into Sport-Touring.net and had STN stickers then they split up. Then I was on ADVRider and had those ovals on my bikes and a few tee shirts then they shit on me. So I doubt I’ll ever go all in on another web club. Sorry.

I like the current logo, or possibly some other cool looking logo with a generic adventure bike with trees and mountains in the background.

I never understood the connection between motorcycles and skulls. It must have started with the Hardly crowd.

Life is short enough without having to decorate stuff with reminders of our mortality.

I get the whole aversion to skulls and their association with "bikers". Flames, skulls, chrome eagles, Live to Ride-Ride to live...bleh. It's pretty played out.

My home forum, before VS killed it, had a mascot the members came up with as group. Goofy skull with knucks for teeth and crossed wrenches. It was a builders forum and pretty rowdy. But people traveled cross country to attend weddings, funerals, etc. It was the only family many of us had. The whole thing was really a mockery of the whole skull and cross bones "look how badass of a biker I am" since we were 99% building Jap bikes and the whole "when you gonna get a real bike, a Harley" wss hilarious to us. So I suppose I have a soft spot for skulls from those days, and I get why many don't want to wear skulls.

The only reason the skull came about is because pirate4x4 used a classic Jolly Roger, which makes sense. When that group spun off I had something similar created. This group was spun up fast so the skull got a color to match(ish) the theme from your old place.

As far as why skulls and bikes seems to be associated .. I'm not sure. Got me curious though.... Ghost Rider comics?

In short and in general, to translate to off-roading terms, rmotorcyclists often get split in to two groups. Harley riders and those who don't.

Harley riders consist of two groups. Normal people who just like their Harley and those that pledge their allegiance to the Church of the Motor Company.

The latter is the motorcyclist equivalent of a Mall Crawler. Skulls, flames and chains are their version of angry eye keep grilles and "it's a jeep thing" sticker. So there's a bit of a stigma attached to it.

I definitely get the split between the two. My dad has been a Harley guy for as long as I can remember often having several bikes. I've spent many father's days on long bike rides to ride with him. My uncle on the other hand, was a BMW guy but I'm not sure I ever remember him ever really off-roading it aside from washing it in his yard LOL

I don't identify with the angry eye, It's a jeep thing here's a dumb duck group attention seeking group. Just build something cool and do cool things in it.
