My MaTE TREV PULLED IN THE YARD TODAY ON A 2002 hONDA vfr800, He bought off ebay after putting a bid in for £501 with 6 seconds cto go, and won it for £437.50. :lol2
It Looks like a Red Honda VFR800 its got 107K miles and starts runs idles rides great tyres are part warn but not cracked or obviously dangerous, its really very good for such a low price.
He offered me gto take it a ride and i just had to do it, the urge was strong to see wqhat it could possibly be like.
Well it was cloudy but dry and roads were quiet and i gave it hell, it was in my opinion fantastic, it handled ok stopped well was quick the box was slick it was incredible for £437.50p.
It seems stock and i did not expect a bike with that miles on to be so good.
It needs tyres obviously and servicing, perhaps look at the forks and rear shock etc but really you could just ride it as is and its perfect. What a tribute to hondas engineering its certainly impresed me a lot, i am seriously interested in looking for a similar bike myself even if i pay more money i would be happy.
Any insight into the VFR800s and what to look for improvements maintainance hints or just experiences with them. if i sound impressed believe me i am. awesome cheap old bike that had me looking at an instant ban if i had got cought at twice the UK legal limit and it had more to come. what a bike for so little money.

That does sound like a very special buy, please congratulate your friend for me and I'll wish you good luck finding one for yourself.

Here in the northeast region of the States this is a very good time of year to find good deals on bikes.

VFR owners can be almost cult like and it causes the bikes generally command money. A buddy recently bought an '02 that needed fairings and tires, but otherwise ok, for $2200.

A former coworker in northern Georgia (US) had 3 of the 750 version. I understand there are abundant great roads to ride there.

Not loved here, i remember henry cole on shed and buried bought one and strugled to move it on. trevs was cheap but there are others not much more money. asking prices and acctual people parting with folding for a thing are two very different things. Its like 30s cars here, not expensive, but a Mk 1 ford escort mexico and they just go mental. Escorts were always shit roten like few other cars of the time and basic crude with zero refinement, not even fast compared to like say an alfa gulieta , or even a fiat 124 sport which is faster better handling and just looks like a lada, but power ? it would have to be a twin cam escort or RS o beat a 124 sport TC.
Having said all that, if i could travel back in time i would fill a field with 350 escorts and a 60ftX 40ft farm building with Panels for them. OH! and another 60x40ft with mig wire and welding consumables. hell did they rot.
