My MaTE TREV PULLED IN THE YARD TODAY ON A 2002 hONDA vfr800, He bought off ebay after putting a bid in for £501 with 6 seconds cto go, and won it for £437.50.
It Looks like a Red Honda VFR800 its got 107K miles and starts runs idles rides great tyres are part warn but not cracked or obviously dangerous, its really very good for such a low price.
He offered me gto take it a ride and i just had to do it, the urge was strong to see wqhat it could possibly be like.
Well it was cloudy but dry and roads were quiet and i gave it hell, it was in my opinion fantastic, it handled ok stopped well was quick the box was slick it was incredible for £437.50p.
It seems stock and i did not expect a bike with that miles on to be so good.
It needs tyres obviously and servicing, perhaps look at the forks and rear shock etc but really you could just ride it as is and its perfect. What a tribute to hondas engineering its certainly impresed me a lot, i am seriously interested in looking for a similar bike myself even if i pay more money i would be happy.
Any insight into the VFR800s and what to look for improvements maintainance hints or just experiences with them. if i sound impressed believe me i am. awesome cheap old bike that had me looking at an instant ban if i had got cought at twice the UK legal limit and it had more to come. what a bike for so little money.
