Next day and we're continuing to head southwest. Another guy having a bad day along the way ..

I didn't take a lot of pics through New Mexico and Arizona as there

wasn't a lot to shoot. And we were just hauling as fast as we could to make time anyway....

Still a nice area to ride through. The openness

is refreshing ....

The Lake Powell overlook north of Page, AZ reveals just how little water is in the Lake these days...

After Page, AZ, we head north to rail along one of my favorite roads in the USA - Utah's Route 12 ....

Nothing but nice new tarmac and no traffic for us ...

It's a shitty ride but someone has to do it ...

It's getting dark and weather is moving in on us....

The next day is sunny and reveals the views from our hotel that we missed last night in the darkness . Up with the Sun and headed

back northeast today ...

Rode past the petroglyphs in Capital Reef area ...

East of Capitol and we encounter lots of diatomaceous earth . Funny how the landforms change so quickly ...

And then back into

the red sandstone areas ..

More remains of what used to be Lake Powell. Wasn't that long ago that this was full of water ...

A few days ago and a pic I took 20 years ago in the same place ....

Old, unused boat dock in the background - no water means no more boats...

We rode across the valley and towards the docks ...

 

[Earache]

The docks were blocked off - to cars anyway

- so we rode around and into the "water"'. Garmin seems to think I was riding in a Lake ...

We then headed north to get into Moab for the night and were greeted

by nasty lightning and hard rains....
