I really liked my airhead hack. But 1st gear sucked but the clutch was gold. I would ride in circles to take off and I loved right turns from a stop.
One day my vm mukuni blew off from a backfire on startup. I tried to jam it back in and even hold it with my foot. I didnt have tools...thiis is bavararian wonder land with brembo brakes in 1983. I rode home on one lung to get a screwdriver! Ha 3 days later a trailer customer tells a bing account of loosing the float bowl. He actuall rode the interstate on one carb and fuel drippin on his boot. Both of us made it home.
