Sport Touring Rigs

^ Like the Laverda triples, that era of Triumph triples have a solid brawny look that looks the business. :thumbup
I Once rode a laverda JOTA It was 1976 i was just 18, my fastest bike to that point had been a XS2 650yamaha , the laverda was Way more than i had ever seen mph, . I got it well over 125mph and it was going and going. I remember being uncomfortable at that speed, my Experience just was not up to those speeds and i was struggling to consentrate/ focus far enough down the road, i started to think "What if" and i bottled it rolled off the throttle and it took an age to get down, i was so stupid / naive i swear i dare not have hit the brakes.
Stupid embarasingly so, i admit it. But I learned a lot from that Ride, and by the Grace of god Lived to tell this tale, and perhaps more importantly i killed no other soul in the process. I remember telling my dad a Scott flying squirel owner in his day, He warned to be carefull, And in his words "Little steps Lad Little steps and you learn". It rang true to me that. and i told all my Kids the same thing.

2007 Tiger 1050. Great machine but I really need to have the suspension resprung and valved for 170lb rider (instead of a 250lb one) if I'm going to keep it. It's got a real nice Penske shock on the rear, and who knows what done to it up front. Reckon' that'll cost half as much as I bought it for...

Cut down stock screen works really nice now that it's summer though.

Have you backed off preload both ends? Reset sag as close as you can get? That’s free and can, with quality stuff like Penske, work the magic.

The front is. The back I haven't figured out how to adjust (it's not threaded). My 230lb brother hopped on it and I was still a ways off from the sag being correct.

After moving and stuff everywhere, needed a cheap commuter. 1998 kawasaki concours was the cheapest thing running I could find, about 2500 transferred and insured.

55k miles and I'm putting about 70 a day on it. Wanted a liter bike to deal with the 75mph surface streets and a shaft drive because I'm old.

I hate moving but I'm happy to be back on a bike. First foray into the sport tour category.

I went from an 1100XX to an Africa Twin. A few weeks ago I added this FJR to my garage. I was really missing power and handling.

That's been on my short list for sometime now. Looks great.

I bet that felt like someone dropped anchor.
After 10 years with the Bird I was ready for a new bike. Elbow and shoulder pain helped the decision. So I went back to my Adv roots. On a recent big loop through Nevada on the FJR, I had to keep it on the pavement. I scouted some exploring. I’ll be back with the AT.

I have this habit of surfing moto-porn and that's how I ended up with a '92 BMW K1, a '04 BMW K1200RS, a '92 Ducati 907IE, a '06 BMW K1200S, a '05 Ducati ST3, '04 Ducati SS1000DS, and now a '16 BMW K1300S purchased two weeks ago. I wasn't planning on replacing my beloved K12s "bumblebee" even though I felt it was getting a bit old and was in need of full suspension replacement and a big ticket 36K service. So there I am sipping (bourbon) and surfing and I decide to check out a Denver BMW dealer's site for used inventory. Well, shit. They happened to have something that caught my attention. The last of its kind and loaded with very low miles. It followed me home....

On the dealer's floor.
