One of my old girlfriend's dad owned a Chevy Kingswood Estate station wagon with the clamshell tailgate. If I recall correctly, it had a 454 engine. The car was a blast to drive and I always thought it would be cool to own one. This one was for sale a couple years ago on Bring a Trailer.

I had two ford Mondeo estates a Mk3 and a Mk4, Mk 3 was a 130 Hp 2.0 TDCI Ford Puma diesel, the mk4 was a 1.8 tdci 125 hp lynx diesel.
Liked both but the mk3 was awesome i put nearly 350K ( scraped it with 500K miles on that car) it was unbelievably reliable and great on diesel.

Bought this new in 2016, which is the only station wagon-like vehicle I've owned. 3.6L pancake six with tow package and skid plates. It's been a great do-it-all car: long distance travel, hauling/towing, camping, light off-roading, snow, etc. Wish a manual tranny was an option, though, instead of a CVT.

This is our modern day station wagon... 2019 Mazda CX-9. Seats 7 passengers, and it has all the toys - AWD, sunroof, bose audio, navigation, heated leather seats, etc.

Bought it brand new in January 2020, leftover 2019. Got a really good deal on it, just before things got crazy in the car market...

After this pic was taken, we had the dealer install the factory tow package. I originally planned on installing the factory roof rack, but have never gotten around to it. Basically that is the only option it doesn't have...

That model was one of the cars in my Driver's Ed class. The one I always chose and nobody else wanted. The backwards serpentine was my favorite exercise. The instructors were on a raised platform and gave directions over the car radio. Mine were always to slow down.
Family cars at the time were a '73 Chevy van, a Dodge Monaco and a Plymouth Fury III, so this beast was a piece of cake. Good times.
