Here are a few types and models estate cars i / we have owned over the past 45 years as family cars and ones i have had as daily beater dog and distance waterfowling transport over the seasons here.
We had a Peugeot 404 diesel estate and i had a 1.5 BMC powered series 1 Land rover , the cars were the same as those in the picture.

late 80s early 90s a Peugeot 505 2.5 diesel estate great car big roomy and strong .
Mid to late 90s a peugeot 405 estate we had a 405 sedan both 1.9 GLTD diesels too(wifes) both white like these. one of the best most reliable economical cars we ever owned .
In the 200s we ran several citroens (Xsara Picasso HDI 2.0) and we had a Citroen Xsara 2.0 HDI Estate with the fantastic DW10 Hdi diesel engine.

I had two ford Mondeo estates a Mk3 and a Mk4, Mk 3 was a 130 Hp 2.0 TDCI Ford Puma diesel, the mk4 was a 1.8 tdci 125 hp lynx diesel.
Liked both but the mk3 was awesome i put nearly 350K ( scraped it with 500K miles on that car) it was unbelievably reliable and great on diesel.

Late 20teens onto the 2020s wife had a skoda superb estate 2016 a TDI great car .
I had two skodas from pre covid until last year a mk1 Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI and a mk 2 Skoda Octavia TDI 140 Estate . Still have the fabia in storage here.
