Welding & Fabrication

I just use 308L for cast. It has enough nickle in it to work. Pre and post heat is important. Should be above 500 to weld. Wrap in blanket to let cool slowly. If it pings while cooling, your boned, do over.

I have 3 of these from Northern Tool, and gang then together as needed. This looks identical to the NT units

I'm sure they are identical. I've seen many products shared between them through the years.

That seems like a great deal, especially with all the clamps.

What's the table thickness? I didn't see it listed anywhere on NT's Klutch listing.

More than a cat's hair and less than a Ritz Cracker.. :hmmmmm

(I'll mic it later today)

Like I said I have 3 of these, they are not perfect as TRUE FLAT, but for 95% of welding jobs, they are good enough. The Tooling that comes with it is pretty handy to too.

the table is sketchy as hell, UNTIL you cut a perfect rectangle out of wood and drop into the leg trey angles, then it stiffens the table right up.

loading the shelf with bike parallel jacks and other steel settles it.

I'm sure these fall into the "you get what you pay for " category.

you can select the metal thickness under options, 1/4", 3/8" , 1/2"
