What's new

What's for dinner? Or lunch? Breakfast?

Grilled Shrimp, Thai Chili Sauce, Garlic and Asparagus.

I've finished the pre breakfast shift and the children are asleep again... This morning we had thinly sliced beef with egg and tomato on toast. Frozen fruit with spoonful of yoghurt to finish.

After a long, long hiatus, I tried making Swedish Pancakes. I ended up with a plate of very tasty uglies. :lol3

Almost like Lefse, except no potato. So sweet, you don't want syrup - just a touch of butter.

The core hot sauces tonight. I added some sriracha and sweet chili sauce to the table as well.

This morning savoury chicken filled crepes.

I am getting okay at this. Just the little things though. A few years ago I'd find a way to burn a pot of water.

Tonight roast venison, red deer from the domestic herd, light gravy and vegetables. Dessert... Still going on the frozen fruit, eaten frozen, tonight it was served with home made ice cream.

While dinner was in the oven the children and I made some muesli bars with the usual seed mix plus home grown nuts and dried fruits without added sugar.

The Main Saturday night chef made spatchcocked chicken tonight.
Trick is to use 1/3 baking powder and 2/3 salt, mixed, and season chicken.
Then slather the bird using mayo and Herbes De Provence.
bake at 450 deg F for 40-45 min to crisp the bird, drop to 350F.
When the breast is 160F, you're done. Let rest 10 min.
