Copycats feel dirty, whether it's Chinese or under the Union Jack. When Kawasaki and Suzuki started selling each other bikes it felt lazy. They didn't care enough to even produce something, but they still wanted me to buy "their" bike. No, thanks. KTM and Yamaha never stopped taking dirt bikes seriously and they continued to innovate and push the technology forward, to the benefit of the rider. I struggle to take either brand (Kawasaki or Suzuki) seriously today.
If you don't have enough pride in your own brand to build your own machine...meh.
