It is called a Telelever. Uses a single shock and fork sliders instead of springs and damping in the forks. It makes for a good ride with no fork dive. The R1200C is BMW's Cruiser, so they stylized it.

I had an 06 KLR for a couple of years. Fun bikes to ride and modify!I dragged this 2006 KLR650 home last week. It's been sitting in a barn for nearly a decade but only has 3700 miles. I'll get it running right and flip it for a few bucks.

It's terrifying for 6' 2" me to ride, but my wife loves it, so all is good.
I was going down a hill in one of the hayfields and it just wouldn't stop. Only has a rear brake. It instantly locked and I just slid the tire about 250' all the way down the hill 😁 Ridiculously good fun.
